Wayne's
story..
After leaving the South African Defence force I got a job
with a security company doing armed response and moving up to Technical Sales
Manager after 5 years.
I came to the UK in 1998 with the intention of
staying for a year or 2 and it has now been 12 years. I have spent the last 16
years in the security industry selling electronic security equipment to
security companies |

2.
When did it all begin? When I realised that I
may be made redundant due to the economic climate at the end of 2008, I set up
a Leasing Finance business. I needed a way to get in front of business people
to show them how I could help them and their customers so I joined a Business
for Breakfast group as a member. I felt comfortable and relaxed in the meetings
and was meeting business people who wanted to help each other get more from
their businesses. A few months later I heard there was an opportunity to
purchase an existing Business for Breakfast franchise and I jumped at the
opportunity.
I now have 8 groups and plan to have 10 by October 2010.
This business has given me the opportunity to earn whilst having a great time
meeting new businesses almost every day.
What
is your typical day like? "I start early most mornings as I go to all
the meetings whilst the exec teams are getting into place. The groups will be
run by the exec team, which gives me the opportunity to do 1-2-1's with both
the existing members and also guests. By doing this I can learn about their
businesses and how I can help them add value to their memberships. "
I
also plan to have member success events on a regular basis to help members get
the most that they can and also have the opportunity to network with members
from other groups as well.
On non meeting days, I spend time inviting
new guests and following up on previous guests to see how we can help them and
get them signed up as new members.
What
advice would you give someone looking to invest in a Business for Breakfast
Franchise? BforB is a business that does what it says on the tin. It
gives you the opportunity to earn money if you are prepared to help other
people get what they want. More and more people are seeing the benefit in
Networking and this is a networking organisation that works.
The model
is based on know, like and trust and that is the way I like to do business.
Go to meetings as a guest before you take on the franchise to see if it
is the type of thing that you would like to do. You must not be a selfish
individual if you want to make this work. There is good training provided by
somebody who has "Been there and done it" The ongoing support has also been
great from both the franchiser as well as the regional director.
I
would recommend the business to anybody who wants to make a successful business
out of helping others. "You will get everything you want out of life if you
help enough other people get what they want." |
